Next time you're in Rotorua, New Zealand, stop in at Volcanic Air. The small operator Volcanic Air offers tours of local volcanoes and lakes by helicopter and floatplate/seaplane.

Rotorua is a city on Lake Rotorua on the North Island of New Zealand.  There are several volcanoes  It's also home to Māori culture and geothermal activity at Whakarewarewa (I'll post about this in another article!).

We took a trip in a Cessna 206 floatplane, registration ZK-FEO.  If you have never been on a floatplane you have to try it sometime - the water is your runway.  The designated water strip is controlled by the air traffic facility for the nearby Rotorua Regional Airport.

We spotted some great sights nearby and our pilot was a pro!

A beautiful New Zealand Day
